By using PLP Compass™ (the "Service") at compass.thedutchmentor.com, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. The Service is operated by Walter Dusseldorp, doing business as The Dutch Mentor ("we," "us," or "The Dutch Mentor").
PLP Compass™ is an AI-powered Individual Development Plan tool. It generates a Snapshot (free) and a 15-page Pro Plan ($97 with bundled S.M.A.R.T. app trial) based on inputs you provide. The Service includes optional add-ons (Compass Co-Pilot at $197/year) and continues your S.M.A.R.T. Performance app subscription at $49.50/month after a 60-day free period bundled with the Pro Plan purchase.
You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter binding contracts. By using the Service, you represent that you meet these requirements.
The Compass Snapshot is provided free. We require your email to deliver it. You may unsubscribe from follow-up emails at any time.
The Compass Pro Plan is a subscription product with the following billing structure:
You may cancel your subscription at any time through your Gumroad account. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. The 15-page Pro Plan and any re-runs you have already received remain yours.
The $97 Pro Plan setup fee is refundable within 7 days of purchase if you have not yet activated the full Pro Plan generation. After Pro Plan generation, the setup fee is non-refundable because we have incurred AI generation costs and delivered the deliverable. Monthly $49.50 SMART charges are refundable within 7 days of each billing date, prorated to the unused portion of the month. Co-Pilot ($197/year) is refundable within 14 days of purchase.
We will send you an email approximately 48 hours before your 60-day SMART trial ends, reminding you that recurring charges will begin and how to cancel if you do not wish to continue.
We grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable license to use the Service for your personal career development. You may share your Pro Plan with mentors, coaches, or potential employers but may not resell or redistribute it commercially.
The Pure Leadership Power™ framework, the S.M.A.R.T. Performance pillars, Leadership DNA archetypes, and all original content of the Service are the intellectual property of The Dutch Mentor. The structured analysis your Snapshot and Plan contain about your career is yours to use. The methodology, prompts, and underlying framework remain ours.
You agree not to:
The Service generates content using artificial intelligence. AI outputs may contain inaccuracies, including but not limited to: salary band estimates, credential timing, occupational classifications, and career trajectory projections. The Service is informational career guidance only and does not constitute professional career counseling, legal advice, financial advice, or guarantee of employment outcomes.
You are responsible for validating the recommendations against authoritative sources (employer requirements, credential bodies, BLS/Lightcast/O*NET directly, licensed career counselors) before acting on them.
Use of the Service is governed by our Privacy Policy. By using the Service, you consent to the data practices described there.
We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may modify or discontinue the Service at any time. If we discontinue paid features you have purchased, we will provide pro-rated refunds for any unused subscription period.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, The Dutch Mentor's total liability arising from your use of the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim. We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to lost wages, missed promotions, or career outcomes that differ from the Plan's projections.
You agree to indemnify The Dutch Mentor against any claims arising from your misuse of the Service or your breach of these Terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in New York.
We may update these Terms. Material changes will be communicated by email to active subscribers at least 30 days in advance. Continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
