This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use PLP Compass™ ("Compass") at compass.thedutchmentor.com. Compass is operated by Walter Dusseldorp, doing business as The Dutch Mentor.

Information we collect

Information you provide

• Intake content — your stated dream role, your CV/résumé text (pasted or extracted from uploaded files), current role, years of experience, industry, hours/week available, life constraints, Leadership DNA archetype (if selected), and your name and email.
• Payment information — handled entirely by Gumroad (our payment processor). We never see your card details. Gumroad shares only the data needed to fulfill your purchase (your email and Gumroad license key).
• Re-run check-in answers — text you submit during the day-60 re-run.
• Co-Pilot weekly check-ins — text fields and mood ratings, stored locally in your browser and (for Co-Pilot subscribers) optionally written into your S.M.A.R.T. Tracker.

Information collected automatically

• Device identifier — a random string generated in your browser to rate-limit free Snapshots. Not linked to your identity.
• Usage metadata — timestamps of Snapshot and Plan requests, for fraud prevention and capacity planning.

What we do NOT collect

• We do not collect protected-class attributes (race, sex, age, disability, religion). The Compass AI is explicitly instructed never to infer these from your CV.
• We do not use third-party advertising trackers on Compass.
• We do not access your employer's HRIS, ATS, or any internal system.

How we use your information

• To generate your Compass Snapshot and Pro Plan via the AI engine (Anthropic Claude).
• To deliver your Snapshot and Plan to the email address you provide.
• To send the email sequence associated with your purchase (Snapshot delivery, optional Pro upgrade reminders, day-60 re-run trigger).
• To verify your license when you activate Pro or Co-Pilot features.
• To improve Compass by aggregating anonymized usage patterns.

How your information is shared

We share data only with the following third parties, only as necessary to operate Compass:

• Anthropic (Claude API) — we send your structured intake (dream role, CV inventory, constraints) to generate your Plan. Anthropic processes this data per their API terms and does not use it to train models. See Anthropic's privacy policy.
• Cloudflare — our hosting and content delivery network. Cloudflare may log IP addresses and request metadata for security and performance.
• Gumroad — handles all payment processing. See Gumroad's privacy policy.
• MailerLite / Brevo — our email service provider for the Snapshot delivery and follow-up sequence. You can unsubscribe anytime.
• O*NET, BLS, Lightcast — we query these public labor-market data sources to enrich your Plan. We do not send personal information to these sources.

We do not sell your personal information to anyone.

Data retention

• Free Snapshot data — retained for 90 days, then deleted automatically.
• Pro Plan data — retained for 18 months to support your free day-60 re-run and your records.
• Co-Pilot data (weekly check-ins, milestone progress) — retained for the duration of your active subscription plus 90 days.
• Email list data — retained until you unsubscribe.
• Anonymized usage metadata — retained indefinitely for product improvement.

Your rights

You have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your data (subject to legal retention obligations)
• Withdraw consent for marketing emails at any time (unsubscribe link in every email)
• Export your Plan (built-in: every Pro Plan has Save-as-PDF and calendar export)

Security

We use Cloudflare's enterprise-grade infrastructure, encrypted transit (TLS), and minimal data collection by design. CV file parsing happens in your browser; only the structured inventory is sent to our servers. Payment data never touches our servers.

AI disclosures

Compass uses artificial intelligence (Anthropic Claude) to generate your Snapshot, Pro Plan, and re-runs. AI-generated content may contain inaccuracies and is intended as informational career guidance, not professional career counseling or guaranteed employment outcomes. You are encouraged to validate credentials, salary bands, and timing recommendations against authoritative sources before acting on them.

Children

Compass is intended for working adult professionals. We do not knowingly collect data from individuals under 18. If you believe a minor has provided data to Compass, contact us at info@thedutchmentor.com and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. Material changes will be communicated via email to active users. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the latest revision.
